What is a "Hangout room"?
After the Demise of the User rooms in June of 2005, some of the "refugees" started grouping together in the Yahoo pre existing rooms. For example the Feet Fetish Folks started hanging out in fetishes:39.
Some of the early hangout rooms were the foot worship room in fetishes:39, the cuckold room fetishes:42 and the Small Penis Room fetishes:32. Many others have come after.
The Hangout rooms are relatively easy to join, using either the Yahoo chat room list or the /join command. They receive a good amount of pass by traffic. Especially the rooms that have high attendance, since real people want to see what the "buzz" is about!
These rooms have the drawback of not being named after the the specific interest that resides or hangs in them. Additionally they have become SEVERELY bot infested. PM bots, pester the crap out of many of these rooms. They often look more attended than they are because of "parked" profiles, and lurker bots are parked in the room.
